Story: The Marvels starts when Carol Danvers (Larson), Monica Rambeau (Parris) and Kamala Khan (Vellani) start swapping positions in the universe. As the three are flying through the universe, they learn that Dar-Benn (Ashton) is behind things. Dar-Benn wants revenge on Carol for destroying her world and has been gaining the power to fight back.

Carol, Monica and Kamala must learn how to handle their powers to win this battle. However, the journey takes them to new worlds that offer new threats the three must adapt to. As the three learn to work together they face a threat that only their own skills can handle.

Verdict on The Marvels

The Marvels is the latest action movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time we return to Carol Danvers who is joined by two new humans with powers Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. They keep swapping and must learn to control their powers to stop a new threat coming to the universe.

This is only the second Captain Marvel driven story and it has already become confusing. It is hard to understand who Monica and Kamela are, with a snippet to describe who they are. The villain feels like she has been ripped out of Star Trek. While the action doesn’t do anything we haven’t seen before. This might sound like a lot of criticism, but it is more fatigue from too many superhero movies with uninteresting heroes. In the end, this finishes the year for the MCU with another forgettable addition to the series.
