The Louvre and Shopping in Paris!

By Joyweesemoll @joyweesemoll

Here’s our day at the Louvre. The first full day we were in Paris, we took a walk in between our tour activities and our first sighting of I.M. Pei’s pyramid at the Louvre was the moment we really knew we were in Paris. I didn’t get a photo that day, but I did the morning of our visit.

Later in the day we went shopping in the St. Germaine area. I bought two scarves at a little boutique where the shopkeeper knew only the numbers in English. Even with her limited English and our limited French, it was a delightful experience. She insisted that I see the scarves on and tied them for me. When she could tell that we were undecided between two patterns, she offered us a “two for” price.

I’ve been wearing one or the other of these scarves for every professional or dress-up occasion since we got back. Here I am dressed for the opera to see one of the shows in the premier run of Champion by Terence Blanchard (reviewed positively in The New York Times: ‘Champion’ at Opera Theater of Saint Louis).

I’m linking these photos to Saturday Snapshot – August 10 at West Metro Mommy Reads. Check out Melinda’s photos of the county fair, including a one-man band.
