Verdict on The Lost Weekend: A Love Story

The Lost Weekend: A Love Story is a documentary following May Pang relationship with John Lennon. It follows her life as she escaped an abusive life and stepped straight into the music industry as the Beatles were on top of the world. She became John and Yoko’s assistant before their marriage became difficult.

The movie focuses on May Peng’s point of view of their affair that turned into an 18-romance with Yoko’s blessing. It shows the change over the time together, while she wanted to get her side of their romance out.

However, this only ends up being a too-private take on a world-renowned musician’s personal life. It only seems to show how famous they were and how uncertain the relationship felt. Sadly, it feels like a story we didn’t need to learn too much about because it should have remained their personal story. Not one for the world to hear about their drug-induced experiences.

Where to Watch: The Lost Weekend: A Love Story will Premiere on the Icon Film Channel from 20th November and available on Blu-ray, DVD and digital from 18th December

Final ThoughtsThe Lost Weekend: A Love Story feels intrusive into a personal life.
