Plot: When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings, they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death.

Story: Tarot starts when a group of college students including Hayley (Slater) and Paxton (Batalon) rent a mansion for a birthday party. They discover a hidden room and Hayley uses her knowledge of tarot cards to give her friends a reading.
However, when they return to the big city, one suffers an accident. The next day another incident and the remaining friends believe it is connected to the reading. Hayley leads the investigation to understand where the cards came from and why they have been cursed.
Verdict on Tarot
Tarot is a horror movie that follows a group of college friends who find themselves cursed after a tarot card reading. The readings start to come true, and they race to figure out a way to stop it taking them all.
This movie has a lot of ‘Final Destination’ feeling about it, with the knowledge of what will happen to them, twisted into a supernatural slasher concept. It feels more like a throwback movie and keeps things simple in how it picks off the characters. The creature creations are great, with different elements of horror bringing them to life like they had been ripped off one of the cards.
However, this will face questions over the decision-making once they realize what is going on. The first incident is reported as an accident, which when you see it will make you laugh at the reporting side of it.
The backstory lore is interesting and does follow other movies in the same vein like ‘Truth or Dare’. In the end, just sit back relax and don’t take things too seriously and you will have a good time.
Final Thoughts – Tarot is an enjoyable blend of Final Destination and a supernatural killer.
