Story: Talk to Me starts when outsider Mia (Wilde) turns to her best friend Jade (Jensen) to go with her to a party. It is the anniversary of her mother’s death and she just wants to be around people. Mia has also gotten obsessed with this game her fellow classmates play and wants in.

The game sees someone hold hands with an embalmed hand and connect to a spirit. Once connected, they have 90 seconds where they lose control. However, when Mia plays, she gets connected longer setting off a series of terrifying events.

Verdict on Talk to Me

Talk to Me follows a group of school friends that get drawn into a twisted game that connects them to spirits. However, when one of the group gets too close to the spirits, they face a race against time to escape their clutches.

The 10 Best Movies of 2022 (So Far)

This is a horror movie that follows a group getting hooked on a new release from life. The connection with the hand and the spirits is treated like the next drug fix that sees the friends getting obsessed with what it offers. One that Mia gets obsessed with, once she learns she could connect with her late mother.

This is a movie that could be broken down into a few different aspects. The game seems to be presented as viral between friends, while it feels like it could easily be much bigger. Maybe we will see more of that from any potential sequels. The way I saw it was making a point of the disconnect that has been created in the world. It puts a massive point on how the group want to either film everything or just chat on their phones. As well as showing how communication between everyone feels distant, despite claiming to be extremely close.

The performances are great, with Sophie Wilde being the standout with the range of emotions her character goes through.

Final Thoughts Talk to Me creates the latest terrifying addition.
