How's the weather?
We've had a variable and mostly cool spring, so far. We're getting some warm weather, now - the upper 80s today. This the kind of weather that can get unsettled, so lots of chances for rain this week.
What are you reading?
I just finished the audio book Managing Expectations: A Memoir in Essays by Minnie Driver and the ebook novel The Affair of the Mysterious Letter by Alexis Hall. I liked them both and have plans to post reviews in the future.
Next up, it's time to start reading this month's book for the Community for Understanding and Hope Book Group. Our May selection is Beautiful Country: A Memoir by Qian Julie Wang.
What are you watching?
The Coronation of King Charles III. As I predicted in my British Isles Friday post, I didn't get up early enough to catch the beginning, but I did watch the end of the service and the procession and other later activities.

Then, I went back to the beginning of the livestream. I'm still making my way through the seven and a half hours of coverage from the BBC.
I'm really enjoying both the traditions and the attempts at modernization. During my walk yesterday, I listened to Medieval Origins of Coronations from Gone Medieval. That podcast episode pointed out that there is only so much you can do with a 1000-year-old history that is fully grounded in the Church of England and the Catholic Church before that.
What are you writing?
Mostly blog posts, at the moment. I've had various disruptions in life recently. I find it so much easier to jump in an out of writing blog posts than I do to get back to my novel-writing. Although, now that I type that out, I'm not sure that needs to be true. I wonder if I can set up some structures that would make it nearly as easy to jump in and out of writing a novel as it is to jump in and out of writing blog posts.
What are you doing?
The coronation is serving as the celebratory start to my birthday week. I turn 61 on Friday (May 12). This week will be about figuring out and planning what I want to do with Year 61.
