Starting Point

By Nicoleao @momfever

I’ve been a runner for about 10 years now, and my starting point has always been our home. It simply never occurred to me to drive somewhere, and then go for my run.

Then I read The Lola Papers, and Lola dríves to her runs! What a fascinating concept.
It got me thinking: should I go explore strange and new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no man has gone before? It wóuld be nice to expand my running world. And I have already thought of several runs I would like to try.

But so far, come Sunday morning, my starting point has still been our home. It’s just so easy to just walk out the door, and not do anything else except run.

Nevertheless, if I get hit by boredom, I know a great remedy: expand my running horizon, by driving somewhere first, and run from there.

What’s your starting point when you go out for you run? Do you run from home, or do you drive somewhere first?
