Verdict on Splinter

Splinter is a horror thriller following a widowed father who is struggling to deal with the death of his wife and son. He has become trapped inside his home surrounded by his family memories. However, this is starting to take over his mind, showing him losing control of reality.

This is a movie that shows that loss can consume people and take them down a dark path to recovery. However, the movie creates the idea that there is more than meets the eye, which keeps us wondering about what the truth really is. We are taken down dark paths and using the single location shows just how paralysed by the previous events John has become. This takes us on a journey in which we are unsure of what will happen next.

Final ThoughtsSplinter takes us on a journey to understand coping with loss.
