Story: Road Hard starts as a stand-up comic Bruce Madsen (Carolla) looks to regain his fame. He used to have a famous TV show but now he runs the circuit as his divorce leaves him living in his garage.

As Bruce looks to try and revive his career, he finds himself getting into complicated situations. This sees him making himself look stupid using his inappropriate jokes and questioning everything about the process.

Verdict on Road Hard

Road Hard is a comedy-drama following a man looking to find his former fame. It takes us down the road he is on, stand-up comedy when he would rather have a fixed location to remain close to his family. We see his journey to try and make it a reality again.

However, this movie ends up feeling flat, as the comedy is all about whether you like a certain style. If you don’t, you won’t enjoy the movie. The idea of recapturing fame is another subject we have seen before that doesn’t always click. Having the idea that this guy is still making a comfortable living makes it hard for us to care about him getting another big shot too.

Final Thoughts Road Hard is a style of movie that we have seen way too many times better.
