Readers’ Workouts — January 7

I’m slightly ahead of schedule for exercising 1400 minutes in January. The last two days, I’ve simply stretched for 15 minutes. That’s recovery from last week’s snow shoveling and preparation for this week’s. We’ve been snowed in for two days, but it was too cold to shovel yesterday. So, that’s today’s task.

I’m pleased with how my body’s been doing with all of this functional exercise. Although I’m not in as good a shape as I was this time last year, I’m still plenty strong enough to use my leg muscles and protect my back.

Are you dealing with snow? Has the New Year given extra energy to your fitness goals?

Talk about your fitness activities on your blog (feel free to grab the logo) and link to your post below or join us in the comments! Be sure to visit the other participants to see how we all did.

I wrote a series of posts about books to support various New Year’s Resolutions — one was Be More Fit. I’d love more suggestions. If you’re reading books about health and fitness for the new year (or for other goals, projects, and resolutions), join us at The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge!
