Story: Poundcake starts when a savage serial killer murders a straight white man. In the aftermath, the city starts talking about the different feelings toward a straight white man getting murdered, as it appears a serial killer is targeting them. As the bodies start piling up, the social commentary from the different groups around the city has strong feelings about the situation.

Verdict on Poundcake

Poundcake is a horror movie with a big satirical message around it. It follows a serial killer attacking straight white men and causing them a massive amount of suffering in their deaths. However, the city’s different groups have different feelings about the situation.

This is going to be a movie that is going to get massive polarising opinions. It takes the bigger discussion of the position of different groups in society and the reaction to one group being targeted by a serial killer. This subverts expectations in selected victims, this even gets to play into the deeper black comedy in the movie.

While this movie does have a massive social commentary going on, it only slowly releases more of the slasher elements created. It firmly places everything on the reaction to the murders and how the city sees the world in the aftermath. This ends up being pitch-black comedy at its very best.

Final Thoughts Poundcake is pitch black comedy at its very best.
