Story: Pet Sematary Bloodlines starts when Judson (White) and his wife Norma (Lind) are looking to leave Ludlow. They are planning on joining the peace core in a way to avoid being drafted. However, their journey out of the town sees Norma attacked by a neighbor and best friend’s dog.

That is just the beginning of the night, as Timmy (Mulhern) starts acting differently after returning from war. It soon starts spreading through the town and the residents must figure out how to end the curse once and for all.

Verdict on Pet Sematary Bloodlines

Pet Sematary Bloodlines is a horror thriller following a small town which continues to deal with the legacy of a cemetery. It is a place that can bring things back from the dead and this time it has been used to return life to an adult. However, his bloodlust becomes dangerous leaving bodies across the town as the locals race to stop it.

This is a movie that looks to build on the legacy of the cursed graveyard. It is the fourth attempt to do this after the remake a few years ago. There are some excellent special effects on the gore side of things. However, the story doesn’t bring any real feeling of horror and unease which seems clear what it wants to do. While this is the biggest threat to come from the grave, it doesn’t do enough to show the balance between loss and trying anything to get a loved one back. Which was the whole concept of the creation in the first place.

Final ThoughtsPet Sematary Bloodlines fails to bring the shock or emotional story to life.
