Nicki Minaj’s Brother Was Found Guilty In His Child Rape Trial

14th Annual CFDA Fashion Fund Awards

If it seems a little toasty beneath your feet today, don’t fret: Lucifer is just stoking the flames of Hell to get ready for his newest neighbor: Nicki Minaj’s brother.

TMZ reports that, after a three-week trial, Jelani Maraj (Nicki’s bro) has been found guilty of predatory sexual assault of a child and endangering the welfare of the child. He now faces 25 years to life in prison when he goes back to court for sentencing on December 14. The Nassau County D.A. added, “We hope that today’s verdict will help the family in the healing process.

Jelani was charged with raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter back in 2015. The same year, he married Jacqueline Robinson in a wedding Nicki attended. She even posted to social media a photo of the two pledging support:

“I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man.”

Luckily, that ocean crossing did not extend to disgusting acts straight out of a Law & Order: SVU episode. Early reports said Nicki was going to take the stand and say the whole mess was a racket from Jacqueline trying to shake Miss Anaconda Booty for $25 million. It even got to the point where Jelani’s lawyers intimated during opening statements that Nicki would be a witness.

Nicki chose not to testify during the trial and never showed, much to the chagrin of Jelani’s legal team. Nicki recently told Dazed (via XXL) that her next album will also double as the start of a new epic era in her career. Somehow, I think her aura of handlers figured coming to the defense of an accused child rapist just might take away some of the Spotify play count sheen of said epic-hood!
