Movie Stars Cafe is a movie-themed restaurant, similar to Hard Rock Cafe and Fashion Cafe, that is owned by the Japanese founder of Hallo Hallo Mall Philippines online shopping.

Amazingly, the restaurant is filled with life-size action figures which according to the restaurant manager cost around P600k - P1M each.

Aside from the life-size figures, the owner’s movie posters and still photos collection are also plastered all over the restaurant.

What’s special about this place is that you get entertained with live Broadway performances while you’re dining. Performances start at 6:00 pm so dinner time is the best time to come.

Kids and adults alike would definitely love this place, there’s never a dull moment with all the performances and participation of the guests. Moreover, the energy is high as the music they play in between performances puts you in a party mode that you can’t help but do the “tugs tugs tugs” move and “wiggle it just a little bit!”

It’s also nice that the performers go around to chat with the customers.

Among all the performances that night, we enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast best. We loved the songs they performed and their costumes were really nice!

DINING

The food they serve at Movie Stars Cafe is similar to Chili’s and Friday’s: burgers, pasta, pizza, etc. Typical pig-out food with huge servings that are great for sharing.

Oh, and they have a buffet! Unfortunately, we didn’t like the selections that night so we opted for ala carte instead.

We had:

Stars BBQ Pork Ribs P960.00. A full rack, St. Louise style, roasted with their special seasonings. Fire-grilled and double basted with tropical Kona BBQ sauce. Served with coleslaw, a French fries medley and cinnamon apple relish. It was super yummy, one of the best we had!

Magnifico 490.00. 18” Angus steak pizza, caramelized onion, and peppers, topped with mozzarella served with steak sauce

It was really big but the flavor was nothing great! We were even disappointed that they served it piled up on a plate because according to the server, they ran out of the serving pans. Sadly, the pizza stuck to each other and was already cold and soggy already upon serving.

The Notebook P420.00. Baked penne pasta, served with basil cream sauce, pomodoro, fresh sausage, mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese
Rafa liked this pasta a lot. It’s on the sweet-side and oh sooo cheesy, perfect for kids!

Their ala carte menu is quite extensive and they have a pretty good offering (unlike their buffet). We actually wanted to try a few more dishes but we can only eat so much so we’ll just try them when we come back. They also serve wine and cocktails if you feel like partying!

Overall, Movie Stars Cafe is a great, fun place to celebrate children’s birthdays and to hang out with family or friends. The food isn’t that great but the exciting, fun vibe of the place as well as the entertainment will make up for it!
