March 28 Health and Beauty Pick: Green TeaBy Nicelise
I've never really liked coffee and tea was something I only used to drink when I was feeling sick. But, since I started working full-time, I've enjoyed a mug of green tea every morning, sans milk or sugar, to start my day. Not only does it warm me up on cold or rainy mornings, but the little shot of caffeine helps me wake up and get my creative juices flowing.
I have also credited my green tea ritual with helping me lose about 10 pounds since last spring, among other changes I made to my diet and workout regimen. Studies have found that some of the benefits of green tea include boosting your metabolism, lowering LDL (the bad cholesterol), inhibiting the growth of bacteria that causes bad breath and fighting cancer with antioxidants.
If you don't want to drink it plain like me, try adding some honey or a squeeze of lemon.
