Verdict on London Kills Season 4

Wake-Up Call

Wake-Up Call starts when DC Rob Brady (Patrick) wakes up next to his team’s prime suspect dead in his car. Once he calls in the case, he is treated like the prime suspect. However, his team DI David Bradford (Speer), DS Vivienne Cole (Small) and DC Billie Fitzgerald (Allen-Martin) look to investigate the case. As the team investigates, they learn more secrets about their colleague, but the truth is what they need.

This is an action-packed return for the series. By having one of the core detectives as one of the prime suspects offers a new dimension. While the team believe he could never be guilty, it shows the two clashing teams trying to work on the case from different points of view. It lets us know the tension within the force, while also showing the results are important. (4/5)

Fallout (D. Craig Pickles)

Fallout sees the team investigating the death of a former military man in his home. What looks like a potential accident of the victim falling down the stairs. However, evidence points at a fight in the home and a mystery phone call phoning the police. Now the team must put aside their personal problems as they search for answers closer to home.

This offers up an interesting case with few clues along the way. However, it is starting to get held down by the personal drama between the police officer team. If we step away from that would, we get an interesting case that has plenty of twists in what is being revealed. (4/5)

Old Wounds (D. Bruce Webb)

Old Wounds follows the team investigating the stabbing of an Asian student in a gangland area. Billie investigates a similar case which could hold answers. However, the detectives must do what they can do to unlock the secrets of the gang area. Although, nobody wants to talk to the police for fear of consequences.

We continue to get interesting cases, here with this one tackling gangland area. It shows the difficult worlds getting what they want as they deal with things their own way. Once again, we get plenty of twists and turns to help reveal the bigger crime going on. While certain personal sides are pushed back. It does get to highlight the personal reason for getting into the line of duty, which is far more refreshing. (4/5)

Amnesia

Amnesia follows the detectives investigating the death of a delivery driver left under his wheel. This sees the team investigating the delivery company and the personal life of the driver. However, more focus is put back on a previous complaint against one of the team. All while Detective Bradford goes missing in action.

This does bring us yet another smart interesting case to see unfold. It continues to keep things simple with what the cases are, which leads to a more person-driven story unfolding. The continuing personal storyline is starting to take over too, which has put forward a few more interesting questions about the future of the team. (3/5)

Vendetta (D. Bruce Webb)

Vendetta starts when a boxing champion calls in about the death of a trainer, confusing to the crime herself. However, the detectives don’t believe she is the murderer and look to investigate the case. Elsewhere, the rest of the team look to deal with their own problems that could see the end of the team working together.

This is the final episode of the series and brings everything full circle on the bigger personal drama involved. While this sends shockwaves through the team the case is still the big thing that needs to be spoken to. This finishes a series of crimes with a story with plenty of twists that help keep us wondering who was behind the murder. (5/5)

Overall

London Kills Season 4 is a great series following a unit of detectives solving a selection of murders. They work well together and the crimes offer up plenty of mystery. However, with a wonderful series of cases comes a negative. This comes from seeing them dealing with a lot of their own personal dramas, which can overshadow the crimes. The fact the episodes are short help make them a lot easier to digest and we can enjoy the more laid-back nature of them.

Where to Watch
