July Cinema Round-Up
I have decided to conduct some research exploring the equality in directors having their movies shown in cinemas. This could be the biggest release right down to a movie that only got one screening. For the research, I am only using my local cinema, but not naming the chain it is part of.
When it comes to how the research has been conducted, is that I have started with only the number of films compared to the number of directors. Going forward, I would like to expand the research to include other cinemas. That is where you can come in to help.
I will be looking to count the number of screenings per film next month. If anybody has any other suggestions for other information, I can add to make this more interesting, please let me know.

Male – 25 (81%)
Female – 4 (13%)
Both or Co-Directors – 2 (6%)
Conclusion As we look at the different movies shown, we do get a big range of movies by genre, as we can see below. However, the split between male/female directors is massive. Barbie is the difference maker in number of screens presenting the movies. If Barbie hadn’t been released, we would have only had one showing for the 3 other female directors.
