Story: Into the Spotlight starts when high school student Laura (Larson) is getting used to her latest year of high school. Her friends Riley (Hampton) and Ben (Ruggero) keep her enjoying her high school experience. However, like most students, she wants more from her time there. Meanwhile, her mother Kim (Baker) is getting tired of her father William’s (Sizemore) tour schedule.

When Laura reluctantly replaces one of her friends in a talent contest, she ends up going viral, attracting attention from the talent manager. However, this life doesn’t live up to the attraction she was expecting.  

Verdict on Into the Spotlight

Into the Spotlight follows a teenage girl from a musical family that becomes an overnight sensation. However, the new spotlight comes at a cost, and she must decide what she wants from her future.

This is a musical high school drama that gets to show the modern troubles high school brings. All while showing how quickly someone can become the next big thing. It highlights how social media views can decide who a star is. There are some catchy songs and the overall good feeling and message being told throughout the movie keeps us enjoying it. The lead Kate Larson also wrote the screenplay and is going to be a name to watch out for in the future.
