“Death is never the end of the story. It always leaves tracks.” – Notary Jean Lebel

Number of Times Seen – 1 (7 Jul 2023)

Brief Synopsis – After their mother dies, two siblings are tasked with trying to find both their long lost brother and father.

My Take on it – Powerful film about the search through the past in order to find the truth of one’s shared history. The story jumps back and forth between the present and the past and is able to reveal so much about the hardships of living in a war torn area. The main story takes place in an unnamed Middle East country, with the warring factions of Muslims and Christians in that country shows how far back these internal struggles go. They do a nice job creating a mystery for these characters while searching for their history and the plot does a nice job of slowly revealing clues that lead to other clues along the way.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Denis Villeneuve spent five years working on the screenplay, directing two feature films and two shorts in the intervening time. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
