Email Marketing
How to use email marketing to become an influencer. That's what I'm going to talk about in today article. I've done a ton of competitive analysis and I think it's something that's really going to help your business and it can be great for lead gen sites, e-commerce sites, and even news sites.

Let's go ahead and dive into it.

Email marketing is a beast. There are so many different things that you can do with it. It can be used for when somebody signs up just for a notification. You can set up automation so that there's a series of emails that go out to somebody. It can be used to promote products and lot more.

Today, what we're talking about is influencer marketing through email marketing. It's very specific, it's actually quite a bit different than you would see other types of email marketing.

Let me give you an example.

In many cases, for a large e-commerce site, you're gonna see email marketing done a beautiful template, very well designed, they might have some animation in there, a clear call to action, they're promoting products and that's gonna be much different than what you're going to be doing to use email marketing through influencer marketing.

To use email marketing through influencer marketing, to be effective, what many people do, is they have it be more of a personalized experience. That's what we're going to be talking about here today.

There may be other ways to do email marketing through influencer marketing but this is the most effective and it's what you're going to see the most of from top influencers online.

To get started

* What most people will do is add family and friends,

* Setting up some pop-ups on their website,

* They got some email captures,

* They got some lead magnets.

Lead magnet meaning somebody might come in, want to learn more about a specific topic so they download a PDF. You're withholding information so that somebody will sign up, give you their email address.

What's really important about that is you want to make sure that what they're putting in their email address for is to get information on a topic that you want to be seen as an influencer for.

You want to set up this process where you're constantly attracting new emails and generally, most people try to shoot for between 500 and 4 or 5 thousand emails a month.

If you can do that, you're going to be always bringing in new people into your email marketing influencer system.

There's quite a bit that goes into that and different ways to capture emails but what I'm going to be talking about next is really how you craft this email and start building the relationship so you can be seen as an influencer.

Write In The First Person

What you're gonna want to do is write this email in the first person. As your email list grows, you're gonna want to build relationships with these people. You're gonna want to give these people information over time and don't hold anything back.

Write to them in the first person as if you're having a conversation with them. It's like if you were managing a Facebook page or a Twitter profile.

You want to be speaking directly to these people and you want to deliver this information in plain text.

There doesn't need to be a bunch of elaborate design. You don't need to use a fancy template, in fact, it's gonna be much more effective if you're writing a personalized message to this person and you're giving them information over time.

What that's going to do is, it's gonna help both people. It's gonna help you because you're gonna get that person mind shared, they're going to see you as a subject matter expert and whenever they need a product or service, you're going to be the first person they reach out to.

On the other end of the spectrum, they're going to be learning information from you for free. They're gonna be bettering their skill set, they're gonna be getting a taste of free information and get the idea of what it would be like to work with you.

What happens is, over time, that eventually turns into this invisible relationship on the influencer side but it turns into a very, very real relationship on the other side.

That's what publishing and content marketing and influencer marketing is about. It's about giving away information, letting these other people absorb it for free and then eventually it all come back around.

* You're gonna want to craft these emails in the first person.

* You gonna want to speak directly to these people

* You're gonna want to deliver real information.

Don't Email Every Day

You don't want to burn out your list, meaning you don't want to send an email every single day. You want to be really cognizant about that and you want to watch your unsubscribes and your open rate as well as the click-through rates on your individual emails.

Try to develop a baseline for that, something that you're comfortable with and it can vary quite a bit from industry to industry. If you start seeing big swings in one direction or another, if people are unsubscribing, take note of that.

If they're not clicking on your content, you gotta make it better.

If they're not looking at and opening your emails as frequently, you might wanna ease back.

For me, what's been effective is about once a week. I feel like, if you go more than that you can really start risking some list burn-out.

Other people do once a month or they just do bi-weekly. It all just depends on your demographic and the information that you're actually proving to them.

Specifically, start building your list.

* Put a mechanism in place so that you can do that.

* Start sending out an email at a regular frequency in the first person.

* Speak directly to these people.

* Build a relationship with them.

* Give them content away for free.

* Don't try to oversell these people.

Don't try to just get products and services in front of them, they aren't going to enjoy that, by doing this over time, you're gonna develop a process that;s gonna turn into a very nice lead generation source for your business.

Works for pretty much any industry out there if it's done effectively and if you can make the content interesting. Which, of course, if always part of the challenge.

That's it for today, hope you learned something about influencer markeitng today through email.
