How to Improve Your Blog with Alexa

Posted on the 15 March 2013 by Pinkwhen @pinkwhen
Picture Alexa is a MUST have if you want to improve your blog stats.  Why Alexa?  This is THE site to give you ALL of the metrics you are looking for.  Have you heard of it?  If not, then you MUST keep reading!
Alexa tracks everything on the web, including your site! If you want to really get into some numbers and analysis, sign up for the Alexa service and get certified.  Why get certified by Alexa?  Because Alexa can then see all of your pages, the links coming to and from your site, keywords, what pages the majority of your traffic comes from, what your site ranks at on the World Wide Web, and more.
Once a month on the basic plan, Alexa will run an audit on your site and let you know how you are doing.  Are you labeling your pictures? Are you using keywords?  How long do people stay on your site when they arrive?  How many unique visitors did you have?  Do you have any broken links?  It also shows you WHAT to change to improve your audit score. The list goes on and on, and it is all beneficial to you and your site.
Another great feature of Alexa is the ability to compare your site to other sites!  Yes, you can pick those sites, and you can see how your metrics compare to those of your peers.  You can also check and see how you compare to the big ones. If you are blogger like me, chances are you have a few sites in mind you love and would like to compare your site and content to.
While you are at Alexa, make sure grab a widget and let others know you are a part of Alexa.  You can place the Alexa widget into your sidebar and have people who traffic your site give it a review if they choose.  This is another great tool, because your followers are what keep you going, and hearing positive thoughts or negatives can always help you decide on future changes and directions you want you blog to have.  Want to give it a try?  Click on my Alexa widget to your right and leave a review, I will make sure to do the same for you.
Did you find this helpful?  If so, please leave me a comment and let me know! You can also follow me at all of the social icons on the top of the blog. Thanks for stopping by!
