Fresh herbs add a delicious touch and health benefits to any recipe. Summer is a great time to start your own at home herb garden. The plants and seeds are sometimes less expensive during the summer and they will have plenty of time to grow for the winter. Herbs can grow in small pots inside your home or sunroom as long as they are near
a source of light, they can also be kept outside in the warmer seasons of the year. And you will save a ton of money of you grow them your self..
CHIVES
Chives are an herb that grow just about everywhere. They are great for outdoors, but they can survive inside.
Chives need a lot of sun and require moist soil, so watering every day or two days is ideal.
MINT
Mint is a fast-growing plant. They tend to spread out when it is planted outside.
If mint is an herb that you want in your kitchen, it needs to be harvested more frequently so it has the room to grow. Mint will need mostly direct
and its soil should stay moist while draining properly. Mint is a great herb
for your kitchen garden because it shows so much love and smells wonderful. Even though I have 2 large planters of mint and one of chocolate mint, this is an herb that is growing and growing and growing on the side of my house thanks to one of my great aunts who was visiting from Italy one year (her first and only visit here), she decided to plant some for me in a little spot on side of my house.. and it has now taken over the side of my house, but it is a warm memory for me..so you can say I am surrounded in mint and loving it!!
OREGANO
Oregano is an easy plant to grow indoors. It likes to have warm air and plenty of sunlight, but it can be forgiving
Oregano can also be left alone for a while, it only needs to be watered when the soil begins to feel dry,
THYME
Another no fuss herb to plant is Thyme. It needs sunlight to grow and that's about it.
The soil cam maintain moisture in a drought, so it only needs to be watered when the soil is dry to the touch.

Growing fresh herbs may be a little intimidating, but the payoff of fresh flavor in every dish is woth it! And the herbs mentioned here are simple to grow..so hurry get your herb garden going before the warm summer sun is gone!
