To give your body the fuel it needs for the day, eat 3 meals and two snacks a day. Eating every 4 hours will help prevent insulting spikes. Smaller meals and controlled calorie intake will have you living a healthier lifestyle. Eat more calories around your more active periods of he day. All meals and snacks should include a well balance of macronutrients. Macronutrients are protein, carbohydrates and fats. Greek yogurt is a high protein food that would a great choice for a snack.

Plain Chobani Greek Yogurt has only 100 calories, 18 grams of protein, 7 grams of carbohydrates and 0 grams of fat for a 6oz container. Fruit filled will add about 30 more calories and about 13 extra grams of carbohydrates. The fruit filled would be a great choice around your workout. Other than that stick to the plain yogurt.

If you like fruit in your yogurt but do not want the added sugars, use fresh fruit. Blend some of your favorite fruits until they are chunky and mix the into your plain yogurt. Add flaxseed or granola for some extra crunch.

Living a healthy lifestyle is about making better choices. Eating clean foods and staying active will give you great health benefits. Be ready for the day with your meals. Having a plan will prevent you from falling off of your nutrition program. Yogurt is an easy way to get that extra feeding in. If you do not have time to cook breakfast, have a yogurt with a piece of fruit. This will be a better choice than skipping breakfast of stopping at your local donut shop.
