HBO’s acclaimed drama Game of Thrones will return on March 31, 2013.

HBO aired a two-minute behind-the-scenes look at the show before the season finale of Boardwalk Empire on Monday.
Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as well as cast members Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clark, among others, offer a glimpse into the highly anticipated third season.
“This is the season that Dan and I have been anticipating from the very beginning,” Benioff said.
“If we made it to season 3 and if we could do season 3 right, then it would be all worthwhile,” Weiss said.
The clip also introduces a few of the season’s new characters, particularly Queen of Thorns Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) and the Reed siblings, Jojen (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) and Meera (Ellie Kendirck).
Additionally, the feature takes a look at some of the season’s set locations, in places such as Ireland, Croatia, Iceland and Morocco.
“What keeps it fresh is that it’s such an expansive world and that it’s such a rich, endlessly fascinating world, that you can lose yourself in it,” Weiss said.
