Story: Georgetown starts as Ulrich Mott (Waltz) marries wealthy widow Elsa Breht (Redgrave) in Washington D.C. Between the two, they run an operation to help Ulrich’s rise with political powerful players in Washington D.C. when Elsa dies in mysterious circumstances, Ulrich becomes the prime suspect.

As the case comes together, Ulrich’s past becomes clearer and his hands are in more than any other political figure has ever got before. His importance to the battle for peace could be the thing that keeps him out of prison.

Verdict on Georgetown

Georgetown is a crime drama loosely following the events of a German man who became a high-power political figure in Washington D.C. All before becoming accused of murdering his wife who helped him raise to the top.

This is a quirky movie, that shows gets to dive into how people can create power by making connections. The old saying is, ‘It’s how much you know, it is who you know’ that plays heavily into this. Everything in told in a satirical way, which brings out laughs when you see Ulrich’s life unfolding. Christoph Waltz is the star, bringing a comic panic to everything his character goes through. However, when it comes to the main story, it does leave you wondering how much was truly real.

Final Thoughts – Georgetown is a quirky movie that gets laughs along the way.
