Festivus Fun!

Festivus Fun!

The 6th Annual Denver (only) Beer Festivus was held at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum on Saturday, December 16th. I’d attended the event in the past at when it was at The McNichols Building, but this was my first Festivus at this venue, and it was fantastic! It was very roomy and didn’t feel crowded at all, so I would not have guessed it was sold-out festival; it seemed like the perfect amount of attendees for the space.

Speaking of space…the beers were out of this world! And in addition to great brews, it was fun to look at all the aircraft and learn a little bit while drinking.

Around 50 breweries were present, representing Denver with their best stouts, IPAs, porters, sours and more. Here are a few beers that really caught my attention:

I try to visit as many breweries as I can during fests, but inevitably I always end up hearing about beers I missed after the fact. I regret that I didn’t get to try Jagged Mountain’s This Beer Really Ties The Room Together, a blonde white Russian milk stout, which I undoubtedly would have enjoyed. Same goes for Reciprocity Golden Sour Blend from Baere Brewing. I’ll have to stop by their taprooms ASAP for a taste!

Thank you to Two Parts and all of the breweries, volunteers, and everyone else who had a hand in making Festivus a success! As the Denver brewery scene continues to grow, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Festivus 2018. Cheers!
