Story: Elesin Oba: The King’s Horseman starts in the aftermath of the King’s death. Elesin (Adekola) must sacrifice himself to serve his rule. As the community comes together for this event, the local English resident isn’t aware of the meaning behind it all and arrests Elesin.

With the night’s events unfolding, Elesin Oba finds himself questioning the decision. Leading him to learn the new Western world beliefs taking over the culture.

Elesin Oba: The King’s Horseman is a drama that explores the cultural clash between English and Nigerians when it comes to respecting a ritual. This does bring a bigger question to the table, one about understanding other cultures. But rightfully questioning certain parts of it.

This has been a bigger question for years about whether the ritual sacrifice is acceptable. It is right to question whether it is right or wrong, even if it is something completely unexpected to other cultures. However, this can cause problems, that are shown here. It will leave you asking the question of which side of the argument you would stand on.
