Plot: Dream Alliance is an unlikely racehorse bred by small-town Welsh bartender Jan Vokes. With no experience, Jan convinces her neighbours to chip in their meagre earnings to help raise Dream in the hopes he can compete with the racing elites.

Story: Dream Horse starts when bored housewife Jan Vokes (Collette) gets the idea to raise a racehorse. Her two jobs have started to take a toll on her. Jan’s supportive husband Brian (Teale) agrees to let her chase this dream and they end up with a young horse they name Dream Alliance with the rest of their small Welsh village.
Once the village comes together for a syndicate and sees their horse becoming successful. However, once they start receiving offers, they start to question when to cash in on the massive profit they are achieving.
Verdict on Dream Horse
Dream Horse is a drama following a small Welsh village that comes together with a dream. When one of the residents decides she wants to raise a racehorse. The village comes together to support each other and see the horse become a success, but that was just the start of the journey.
This is based on a true story about the village that came together for the horse. It shows how much it changed the village and created a togetherness that the village had been losing over the recent years. The performances are great and the story has a heartfelt message and overcoming the odds.
Final Thoughts – Dream Horse is a great story of overcoming the odds and success.
