I gotta give the CW credit. They were able to have Icona Pop perform, give me some Damon and Elena, explain their strategy, show extended clips of a solid lineup of programming that featured the hottest looking talent in TV, all in under an hour.  They have always understood innovation and proved it again this year with their new CW Seed web destination. They know what to do with the social space really well and they now seem to know who they are in the network landscape and have a lineup to feel good about. I'm glad Hart of Dixie is back and  happy it's moving to Monday. The Originals is solid and The Tomorrow People looked interesting as did some of their midseason shows.  Reign is the hit in my opinion, and they are putting it right after Vampire Diaries.  It should be a no brainer.  Good Job Mark!
Wow, what a week, I'm SO far behind in my viewing and I didn't gain any ground last night either.  My husband surprised me with Tracy Morgan tickets on Mother's Day and the show was last night!  I have a lot of shows to do catch up on this weekend.  I feel like I let you guys down a bit, but with Upfronts and Tracy, what was I going to do?  A girls gotta party and a girls gotta sleep right? (Tracy was horrible BTW)
Scandal Dear Anne Sweeney, thank you for the Watch ABC app! Last night I watched the clock tick during the Tracy Morgan show and all I kept thinking about was being home in time to watch the Scandal finale. Sure I had it DVR'ed, but Scandal's the kind of show I need to watch live. We walked out of Tracy Morgan at 9:55pm, I turned on the app right at the end of Grey's (sorry gave it up when McDreamy did the thing with the candles) and watched Scandal on my Iphone until I got to my house.  LOVE IT!
Thank You A devoted viewer, Kristy Carruba
The Scandal finale was sick wasn't it? I hope you guys all watched it. If you didn't...MAJOR SPOILER ALERTS...MAJOR!  Okay, so the good news is that David Rosen is actually a good guy, not a bad guy. Which makes me happy. I love Josh Malina and really wanted him on the right side of things, and now since he saved the day with the Cytron card and used it to become the US District Attorney. Okay so he had to be a little bad to get back to being good. I'm okay with it.  I'm hoping he stays on the good side or at least on our side.  Cyrus's heart attack right at the same exact time that Restin was blackmailing the President had me desperately in need of a Xanax, but I quickly caught my breath after that ambulance scene. Is Jeff Perry an insanely talented actor or what? He better get an Emmy in September.  Even while he could've been dying, Cyrus was leaking information to James, his husband/reporter, he's just one of the greatest characters ever.  Joe Morton, the head of B16, seems to be in charge of everything and everyone at this point.  After Jake saved Olivia's life (again) he came clean and told her that he was just following orders. Yes...even sleeping with her was an order. She knew he was screwed, kissed him goodbye and then he was put in that same crazy box that Huck was in. I hope they cleaned it out first, it had to be pretty nasty.  Speaking of Huck, he is a great teacher...he taught Quinn to be just like him and last night she officially jumped over to the dark side, drilled into Billy Chambers, got blood splatter all over her beautiful suit and face and LOVED it. Uh Oh.  Cyrus is good...really good.  He told Olivia about Fitz killing Virna and he showed Fitz Olivia sleeping with Jake.  That should be enough to drive a wedge between them for a season or two.  Just as we all thought the breakup was the ending of the season, Olivia's home, in a new crisp white jogging outfit with her white earbuds in, she stepped outside and every reporter was standing in front of her with the knowledge that she is the Presidents mistress. She got whisked away into a limo and Joe Morton's in there and the last words of the season are DADDY??? WTF?  Olivia has parents?  Great season, great cliffhanger.  Can't wait til September.  NEWS & INFORMATION:
-The producers of One Life to Live and All My Children have cut the episodes down from 5 new episodes a week to two. So, starting Monday, May 20, new episodes of All My Children will now run on Mondays and Wednesdays, and One Life to Live on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The behind-the-scenes recap series for both will now be condensed into one and continue to air on Fridays. The producers are saying its to allow viewers to keep up with the series. I'm guessing that downloads were down after week one? Who knows.  I'm sure there's way more to come on this one.
-So basically, American Idol has no judges for next season, X Factor has 2 left and The Voice has so many good ones they need to alternate them in.  The Voice is going to rotate Xtina & Shakira and CeeLo & Usher.  Blake and Adam get to stay and play nice, or not so nice with everyone during all cycles of the show. There's not a week link here at all. All of these judges are enjoyable in their own way.  CeeLo's costumes, odd hands, big glasses and pet props, Drooptina and her cleavage, Shakira and her ability to use Tabasco in an an analogy, Usher and his propped up leg and super cool kicks, and the bromance between Adam and Blake are all what keeps viewers tuning in. Doesn't matter who can sing and who can't, The Voice is all about the judges and the producers are smart in locking them in with this rotation strategy.  There's room for everyone.
-The Yahoo-ABC News Network reported that it delivered more than 221 million video streams in April, a month-over-month increase of 18% (comScore).  Impressive.
-Nielsen and ABC are expanding the Online Campaign Ratings (OCR) to mobile apps. The OCR measures the audience of digital ads (similar to how Nielsen measures TV). This trial run will expand OCR's from computers and tablet browsers to now also include mobile apps.  This makes sense considering that Tuesday, ABC launched my new favorite app, Watch ABC. Now measurement will include consumption across all platforms. I'm all for it.

-Monday is the start of YouTube Comedy Week. The whole week will feature live shows, new episodes from popular YouTube channels, and content from (on and offline) comedians. The event officially kicks off this Sunday, May 19, at 9pm ET with The Big Live Comedy Show, a global live stream featuring comedians doing stand-up, sketches, and musical performances. Anyone at all tuning in?
Friday's Trivia Question: As President Bartlett left the White House on The West Wing...who was the President Elect?
5 Point Bonus if you know the theme of the week.  FYI 3 people got the theme before I even asked the question. Have a great weekend! WWTM-Kristy Like me on Facebook at Watching Way Too Much Follow me on Twitter at watchingwaytoomuch@tvnme http://watchingwaytoomuch.com [email protected]
