Morgan: Did you just compliment me, and insult me?
Review: This is what I'm talking about! Too bad this season is a very short one, cause things are starting to get better with each episode that passes. "Chuck vs. the Curse" had only to profit from Rebecca Romijn's appearance, but that was not the reason why this episode was so great. It was, like General Beckman said, just like the old times. The team got once more together to save the world, all the while trying not to get caught by whoever ran the mysterious operation to take Chuck out, and it was a blast.
But before we get to the next episode, I guess we'd better dissect this one, right? For the most part, it was all about the Woodcombs, who got caught up inadvertently into Chuck and Sarah's troubles with the CIA, right on their first date night after baby Clara's birth. They were responsible for most of the action and fun and Chuck ans Sarah were somewhat left aside to deal with the question whether the Bartowski curse exists or not. This left us with seeing yet another kind of sexy action, even sexier since Ellie and Devon were supposed to be on a date and, therefore, dressed appropriately. The minor plot hole I'd like to complain about, though, was their spy fantasy. I thought they agreed, a log time ago, that spy life was not for them and, as such, didn't want to have anything with it. And then there they were again, thinking how cool it would be if they would have an adventurous life just like Chuck and Sarah have. The writers should really get it together.
Other than that - and missing Verbanski, I loved this episode. I even enjoyed seeing Sarah mad for being left behind, though I could live without those awkward pecks. And, of course, Morgan was awesome again in his funny sidekick role. Also, do we spy a rekindling of the relationship between him and Alex? I really hope so, though in the end I suppose we'll be overwhelmed by everyone living happily ever after.
I'm not sure where this is all going. Having the previous experience of spy shows, I can only see Chuck ending in one of two ways: either he gets the intersect back and Carmichael Industries keeps going at it (though not very likely), or they pull a Sid/Vaughn and retreat on a remote island with their bunch of kids, though Sarah as a mother is something unimaginable.Chuck 5x05: Chuck vs. the Hack Off Back to Season 5
