When Lily's brother encourages her to leave her a Moleskine notebook in her favorite bookstore, in order to find a boyfriend, not for a minute does she expect someone to pick it up and actually follow through with the dares.
However, that is exactly what Dash does, and so begins a journey of self-discovery for both of them. But, will they find love? Or will they realize that the other will never be the person that they have dreamed up insides their heads?

Review:

From the authors of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Dash and Lily's Book of Dares was an obvious choice, because I absolutely adored Nick and Norah. You can definitely tell that it was by the same people, not only because of the setting, but also in the pure essence of the book, which is one of the things I loved most about it.
I'm a huge lover of books that flit between different characters, because I think it's great not to just get into one character's head but to get into the other persons head too. It allows us, as the reader, to see both sides of a story, which I think is pretty unique, and I love that style especially for Dash and Lily.
I think that the fact that this was set during the build-up to Christmas - which is coming up very soon - is another reason why I enjoyed it too, because I didn't realize it was set at Christmas, but it definitely helped get me into the Christmas spirit!
I love the idea of each of them forcing the other out of their comfort zones, even if they don't - initially - realize that they're doing it, and how much they learn about themselves from the experiences.
Even though you are completely rooting for them to get together - in a very cheesy way - you already know that even if they don't, that they have still learnt a great deal from their experiences, and it's obvious that they "met" during a time when they needed that kind of friendship more than anything.
Dash and Lily is an excellent book that is sweet and endearing, with genuine laugh-out-loud moments.
