Story: Black Mirror – Demon 79 starts as we meet Asian sales assistant Nida (Vasan) goes about her everyday life. She deals with racial behavior from the way she looks to the food she eats. After she gets sent to the basement to eat, she accidentally releases a demon.

The demon informs her she must sacrifice three people in the next three days to save the world. This leaves her dealing with the demon or facing the consequences.

Verdict on Black Mirror – Demon 79

Black Mirror – Demon 79 follows a young Asian woman dealing with the racial disgust of her being in the town. She tends to keep to herself until one day she accidentally summons a demon. This leads to her needing to come out of her shell to kill three people to stop the end of the world.

When it comes to this story, we get an excellent world creation, showing the pure isolation the woman is living in. It gets to show how difficult life would have been for anyone from that background in that era in time. However, when it comes to the story involving the demon and the concept of the three sacrifices, things start to fall shorter.

This does give us a big guessing game between what is real and what could be in Nida’s mind. It will keep us wanting to know more as she starts to make her decision. Anjana Vasan is great in the leading role of this episode and Paapa Essiedu is the demon guiding her.
