Story: Accused starts when an explosion happens in a London train station. Harri (Kular) has been traveling on the train out of the station and the news spreads like wildfire. When Harri returns to his family home while his parents go on holiday, he plans on having his new girlfriend Chloe (Ajufo) over to keep him company.

However, when the first suspect photo leaks, it looks like Harri has become the prime suspect. His photo goes viral, along with the hatred towards the Muslim community. Harri finds himself becoming the target of a social media storm leaving him helpless as they have already decided he is guilty.

Verdict on Accused

Accused is a thriller following a young man who finds himself branded the prime suspect in a bombing. He has nothing to do with the attack, however, once the internet gets talking, they start blaming him. However, not everything is willing to wait for the police to investigate and now he finds himself fighting to save his own life.

This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that shows how easily social media can spread false information. It shows that one man can have his quiet peaceful life turned upside down by misinformation and vigilantism. This should come with a massive trigger warning as it touches on serious subjects in a disturbing manner. If you were to compare any movie to this, it would be something like The Purge, with the home invasion angle. This is pure intensity that never relents throughout the movie. Chaneil Kular is fantastic in the leading role in the movie with one of the performances of the year.

Where to Watch: Accused is available on Netflix from 22 September.

Final Thoughts Accused is a relentlessly intense movie that never quits.
