Posted on the 07 October 2021 by Jitendra Vaswani @JitendraBlogger

Making mistakes is often a good thing since you learn from them, there are several blogging mistakes that you should avoid making as an amateur blogger in the early stages of your blogging career.

In this post, I will be sharing some mistakes bloggers make as a noob.
Even if you already know, blogging is no longer a simple hobby or a way to rank effectively in search engines.

It's now so highly competitive that you'll be left behind if you don't have the necessary information and plan.

Every day I discover new tactics and tips for my site, which I've had for long time.

To begin, let's discuss the mistakes that new bloggers make.

What are the basic blogging mistakes? lets start

1.Custom Domain Name

The most common blogging error that beginners make is not using custom domain names. It's not professional to use domain names like blogspot.com, wordpress.com, or wikis, which are all free.

I strongly advise them to purchase a memorable and brandable domain name like tryootech.com or neilpatel.com. You can get domain names from Godaddy.com and Namecheap.com for a really low price. Custom domains help your business stand out and grow in popularity.
Start your own blog and earn money online by following these simple steps.

2.Ignoring list building

One of the finest ways to quantify your dedicated readership is by developing a list. If done right, list and e-mail marketing can bring you more traffic than any other method of generating it.

Even if Google penalises you, e-mail marketing still has the potential to bring in significant traffic and income.
List building on a blog should be practised from the start. Collecting your readers' e-mail addresses as early as feasible aids in the development of a strong list and, as a result, traffic.

There was no list that I was compiling for the first four months. Later on, I came to appreciate the value of list creation, and so I started.

3.Free Themes

One of the most common blogging mistakes made by beginner bloggers is not using premium themes that cost money. The reason for this is that they don't want to spend money on premium themes like StudioPress or GeneratePress Premium merely to save a little cash. This ends up costing them more money in the long run.

As a result, their SERP results are subpar. That's why I suggest using the GeneratePress Premium theme, which is fast, flexible, and optimised for search engines like Google.

One bit of advice for bloggers who are constantly searching for free WordPress themes on Google: You can download malware and viruses-infected nulled themes from Google, putting the security of your blog at risk. Make your blog more secure by using plugins like Sucuri.

4.Not Investing in Tools

Do you know that practically every blogger makes the mistake of not investing in tools? They're not aware that there are resources available to them that can assist them in finding a strategy for achieving their goals. Bloggers should invest in products like SEMrush (14-day free trial), LongTailPro, Grammarly, and GetResponse.

Every company must make an investment to see quick returns. If you invest in blogging tools, you can develop your business 30 times faster and quickly recoup your investment money from additional income.

Amateur bloggers make a lot of these errors when they first start out. Don't make the same blogging blunders I did when I first started out. It will cost you in the long run.

5.Building Backlinks Like a Ninja

The majority of inexperienced bloggers believe that obtaining backlinks is the sole method to rank well in Google's search results.
The point is well taken, and I agree.

However, hold on a second.

A couple of posts can build a tonne of backlinks for a newly created blog. It's absurd to say the least. However, it's the most typical mistake made by new bloggers.

When starting a blog, all you need to do is write quality content, generate a few dofollow backlinks, and leave 20-50 comments per week to quickly rack up 20-50 no follow comment links.

Excessive blog advertising for the goal of building backlinks boosts your rankings dramatically for a short time. However, it will be washed away after a week, if not a month. After then, you'll have to start looking for recovery guides all over again.

Once you have between 70 and 100 high-quality, unique blog posts, you can begin using guest posting to get backlinks. Until then, restrict your guest blogging to a bare minimum.

6.Copying Content From other Blogs

When you're a new blogger, it might be difficult to come up with blog post ideas. Because beginner bloggers lack content writing abilities, they begin copying other popular blogs' content and posting it on their own blog with minor alterations.

This is what we refer to as "practice." Google hates plagiarism and the use of duplicate content, both of which are common on inexperienced blogs. Duplicate content does not score well in search engine results. These blogging mistakes should be avoided at all costs.

If you're not excellent at writing, you can outsource the job to Fiverr article writers, and use Grammarly Plagiarism Checker to ensure your content is free of plagiarism before hitting the publish button on your WordPress dashboard.

7.Ignoring social media

New bloggers believe that just creating high-quality content will serve. They don't pay attention to social media.
But hold on a second.

The content you've published is just fantastic. However, how are your viewers going to find out about your fantastic work?
You need to obtain some exposure on social media by sharing your most recent blog posts with your target audience and telling them about your amazing content. This will result in a significant increase in the amount of traffic to your blog.

Depending on the quality of your content, a portion of this traffic will turn into paying customers.

As long as you remember that "Nobody will come to your new blog and read your posts themselves, you need to reach them," your new blog will be a huge success!
Once you've established a following of dedicated readers, you won't have to work as hard to keep them engaged.

5 writing errors that can harm your content every single time

A single mistake in your writing can cause your reader to conclude that your content is terrible.
A few grammatical errors can cause your entire article to come crashing down. If you don't know about it, it will make you even more crazy.
Regardless of the content's quality.

Let's put the content's quality to the side for a moment.

Spelling mistakes are completely ignored. However, how about grammar? Yes, it does make a difference. Meaning? VERY IMPORTANT!
You must pay attention to your blog's typography because it is really important.

You are what you are

The more successful your blog becomes, the more careful you have to be with what you say. You must be open and truthful with your audience. Your openness strengthens your credibility.
A small error will cause a lot of embarrassment later on.

It annoys me when people use it's instead of its or vice versa.
To be a successful blogger, you need to be able to tell the difference between these two terms.
The little apostrophe makes a significant difference in the final product. Your intended message may be misinterpreted as a result.

Don't use a conversational or generic technique at the same time.

Whenever I speak about writing, I make a point to emphasise the need of taking a conversational approach.

However, if you've been attempting to write in a conversational style recently, you may have run into confusion between the conversational style and a generic style.

You may unintentionally refer to your readers as "you" in some places and as "reader" in others.

You can't do it on purpose. Mixing up these two tactics is like talking to a beloved friend one day and a stranger the next day!

As a result, I won't have to describe how uncomfortable it is for me to read it.
Adopt a writing style and stick with it while communicating with your readers.

Writing in order to meet the word count

Filler words tempt you while you're trying to meet a word count deadline.

Using gimmick words like "and" and "and" dilutes the effect of the post's meaning.

The more straightforward you can be when expressing your thoughts, the better. Always keep in mind that quality always beats quantity.

Yes, this is a nasty habit of mine.

Because web readers have the option to read the content multiple times, you don't have to recite it aloud.

The points you made in the article may not seem to be stressed enough at times. It entices you to make your case once more. You devalue yourself if you keep saying the same thing over and over again. One piece of advice is fine, but only once.

There are other grammatical errors that you may not be aware of, such as using the present, past, or future tenses incorrectly. Alternatively, you could use singular and plural nouns.

Common grammatical errors include the use of fewer and less, bought or brought, and so on.
These severe grammatical errors can completely destroy your blog's credibility.

Conclusion: Mistakes To Avoid As Blogger

These, in my opinion, are some of the errors made by inexperienced bloggers.

If you're a new blogger, you should be aware of the most typical blogging blunders that other experienced bloggers have made and listed on their sites. To put it another way, you'll have to dig into their wealth of knowledge and experience.

Build relationships by reading and leaving intelligent comments on some of the most well-known blogs in your niche.

You may easily become an authoritative blogger by avoiding the common errors made by inexperienced bloggers.

I hope you enjoyed it. Please feel free to share and leave a comment.
