Body Acne

If you love your body then Body Acne must be your nightmare. Body acne can be embarrassing, uncomfortable, and hard to get rid of. Body acne is similar to facial acne in both its symptoms and its treatments, and people who have facial acne are more likely to develop body acne. If you want to get rid of your body acne in the long-term, though, you will need to implement several dietary, hygienic, and lifestyle changes.

The good thing about body acne is that the course of treatment is similar to one followed on the facial skin. But on the flip side of this, body acne does not respond that readily to the conventional modes of treatment.

Special bath

Naturally our body produces much oily sebum that in turn causes body acne resulting clogged pores. For that reason, acne affected body needs a proper shower. Epsom salt also known as Magnesium sulfate is an anti-inflammatory substance. Take 1-2 tbsp Epsom salt, to your shower water and mix it up. Then soak the surface where is acne for 15-20 minutes. Then exfoliate dead skin cells carefully.

Body Acne and Hygiene

Poor hygiene doesn’t cause blemishes, but practicing good hygiene can help prevent acne especially body acne. Acne forms when oil mixes with dead skin cells and clogs pores, creating a breeding ground for bacteria. But cleansing your skin daily and exfoliating weekly can help prevent pores from becoming clogged.

Stick to liquid cleansers

Swap the bar soap for a men’s body wash. Bar soap can actually dry your skin out, which results in your body producing extra oil to compensate. This abundance of oil can clog your pores and cause men’s body acne breakouts if you’re not careful. A gentle liquid body wash cleanser for men ensures you treat your skin with the delicacy it deserves.

Exfoliate dead cells

After the special bath, now you are going to remove your dead skin cells but you might have to face a challenge that is your ingrown hair. Let’s move forwards to flake off the dead skin from your ingrown areas with an exfoliating glove or better one you can afford. You can use sugar or salt in the place of exfoliate gloves, it might sound weird! But it works.

Hit the showers

Whether you’re sweaty from the heat, exercise or some other factor, make sure you wash up and change clothes as soon as possible. Keeping your sweaty clothing on can attract bacteria, dirt and other debris that may clog pores and make back acne and chest acne worse.

Choose fabrics wisely

Cotton is notorious for trapping sweat that can clog pores and lead to body acne breakouts. So if you sweat a lot or exercise often, consider using other skin-friendly fabrics. A lot of workout clothes now feature sweat-wicking technology, which keeps sweat away from your body and may reduce the risk of body acne breakouts.
