Music is the strongest form of magic. Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue. Music is a form of communication. The relationship between music and language has been an important part of the human musical experience since prehistoric times. Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. Meanwhile even though Kavish Seth and Neha Arora started a musical movement, called “Zubaan”.
Zubaan is an organization dedicated to connecting lives through music and performance. Zubaan believes that sharing music with others enhances lives by offering people the best experience and means to express their musical passions, and themselves.
Therefore, the organization seeks to increase the accessibility of music participation to everyone in the community by sponsoring live music events, funding education scholarships and equipment-related capital campaigns. Kavish, an artist by himself had plans to travel, meet, collaborate and perform with the artists in the India; the founders see an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of passionate Artists who seek to pursue music as their career.
The independent music scene in India is brewing and we can smell that something’s cooking already. Within 2 years it’s bound to become a parallel music industry to Bollywood and only emerge stronger. As of now, Independent music can be heard at pubs, college festivals and maybe in some corporate show.
The music does not reach the masses; the concert does not happen for the masses. With internet having reached to the last village, on the mobiles of the folks, the indie music is now available to be heard by a huge majority. Zubaan intends to create such platforms for independent music artists in the mainlands and for the masses.
It has already organized such concerts, mini performances, street music performances at 4 places in 4 different states of India, namely Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra. In a way, it’s a platform where the collective voice of the people reaches to the people.
As Kavish himself quotes – ‘Kala desh ke kone kone mein hai, magar kalakar apne kone tak hi seemit hai’
Music is a direct reflection of the picture of society. Music can be a way to deliver messages, a poetic medium, a fine art, or nothing more than a source of entertainment. It connects people; it’s like a heartbeat of the society we live in.
Mission:
Zubaan intends to create platforms for indie artists. It has started from the mainlands, and aims to make this a mass movement, which is inevitable.
