Zu Tisch, GK 1, New Delhi

By Rohit Dassani

Zu Tisch is at GK 1 – M Block Market. The outlet is on the 2nd floor. The ambiance is good and reminded me of a medieval European Bar. The furniture and walls are wooden which gives this place a rustic look. Map of Germany can be seen on one of the walls. On Sunday’s the outlet has live jazz music and cold cuts Lunch Buffets.

Zu Tisch

Here is some of the food that we tried:-

Black Grape Mocktail – Made from Blackcurrant juice and crushed ice. 7/10

Very Berry Cocktail – Blend of mixed berry juices, garnished with mint leave. 7/10

Thai Mama – Tropical fruit juices, Kaffir Lime gave it a tangy twist. 7/10

Zu Tisch

Grilled Mushroom Spedini – Great dish made from Mushroom, Baby Potato, Capsicum on a skewer. Marinated with olive oil, garlic and grilled to perfection. The dish comes with 3 dips, the garlic aioli and fruit salsa was just perfect. Great combination. 8/10

The All Veg on a Thin Crust Pizza – Fresh Vegetable Pizza with green/yellow/red capsicum, onion, mushroom, broccoli. The Pizza was not that great in taste. The dough of the base was just nowhere close to perfection. 6/10

Meshed Potato’s and Cottage Cheese Stake – Well if you’re looking for a European twist to your meshed potato, this would disappoint you. The twist is actually Indian, and the meshed potato has been made as our ‘Chokha’, which is famous in Eastern parts of India. The Cottage Cheese Stake was good with a homemade sauce. 7/10

Mushroom Stew with Waffles – The Mushroom Stew was too salty for my palate. Also the Waffle was probably the weak link. Too eggy and didn’t have any taste of its own. Overall not impressive! 5/10

Zu Tisch

The service needs a lot of improvement and so is the hospitality of this place. Also if you’re a vegetarian the menu doesn’t have many options for you.

The Scorecard:-

Taste – 7/10
Service – 5/10
Value for Money – 6/10
Ambiance – 7/10
Quantity/Quality – 7/10

Overall Rating is 6.4/10.

Service really rolls down Zu Tisch, long way to go!
