Puff Piece
Do you find regular cushions too staid? Are you bored by furniture with only one purpose? Meet Zieharsofika, the upholstery prototype by German designer
Meike Harde. She’s manipulated flat foam mats into playful volumes by securing them with contrasting rubber bands, all propped on a basic wooden stool. With only three materials, construction of the pieces is relatively simple, yet the end result is complex: Use each one as a bench, an ottoman, and a magazine rack.
The rubber bands can have storage functions and can be used as magazine holders.
