Zidane: “Bale did not play tonight because the club is working on his exit. I hope it is imminent, if it happens tomorrow it would be great.”

Welsh striker Gareth Bale may soon leave Real Madrid, coach Zinedine Zidane announced on Saturday, adding that the Spanish club is currently working on his transfer.

Bale had once again not been selected to face Bayern Munich in a match on Saturday at NRG Stadium in Texas, which was won by the German team (3-1).

“He wasn’t included in the team because the club is working on his departure. That’s why he didn’t play,” said Zidane after the match.

“We’ll see what happens in the next few days. This could happen as early as tomorrow. If so, it will be for the best. Let’s hope, for the good of all, that this happens soon,” he added, believing that the 30-year-old striker was no longer suitable for his team.
