Zero Terminal 3 Is A Linux PC With $5 Raspberry Pi & Touchscreen

NODE, a hardware hacker, has developed a modular Linux PC called " Zero Terminal 3 With a touchscreen, full-size USB 2.0 port, micro SD socket, and built-in battery running on a $ 5 Raspberry Pi Zero single board computer.

Aimed at DIY enthusiasts, Zero Terminal 3 is a very versatile device that offers tons of options when it comes to adding add-ons to reach its true potential. The developer calls these addons "backpacks" and offers users several options to expand the functionality of the device.

According to NODE, you can add radio transceivers, additional network interfaces, game controllers, TV tuners, solar panels and more to the Zero Terminal 3.

Here are the specifications of the Linux Zero Terminal 3 PC:

  • USB 2.0 Type-A port
  • micro USB port (for charging)
  • microSD card reader
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Video output
  • Camera connector port
  • 2x power indicators
  • 3 programmable buttons (connected to the GPIO pins of the Raspberry Pi Zero)
  • Light switch

NODE has also posted a video showing the assembly process of the Zero Terminal 3 Modular PC. In case you want to design one for yourself, you can watch the corresponding video.

Unfortunately, Zero Terminal 3 is not yet available for sale and NODE has not yet worked on it to improve it. The developer said he wants to change the bottom speaker of the device, redesign the power circuit and a custom display panel in the future to make the DIY PC more compact.
