Zack Snyder is Developing a Star Wars Spin-off Movie

Zack Snyder, director of Man of Steel and 300, said that he had no interest in directing the much anticipated seventh Star Wars film but he did not tell the whole truth, my friends.

He is in fact developing a Star Wars “project” for Lucasfilm that will take place outside of the planned new trilogy but is set within the SW galaxy. A Star Wars film that will take place after Episode VI and run parallel to the upcoming trilogy. This means – taking the new rumors for a revived Star Wars TV show into account as well - that  the next phase of the franchise will be much broader than previously thought.

It will be an currently untitled Jedi epic loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai. And Seven Samurai is one of George Lucas’s favorite movies.

“it’s a brilliant, brilliant film, and every time I see it I can’t believe the magic mixture of a great story and great acting and humor and action and suspense — wonderful cinema. The art of moving pictures is on every frame of this movie.”

So, there probably was an outline\synopsis gathering dust somewhere in George’s many drawers and now, Disney is hell bent on conjuring every gram of magic Star Wars can summon.

So, there will be no shortage of SW movies… I like that.
