Yvonne Orji created her first sitcom pilot, “First Gen” to tell the semi-autobiographical story about a Nigerian girl who trades medical school for a career in stand-up comedy. This project caught the eye of many people in Hollywood, including “Insecure” creator, Issa Rae, who would go on to cast her in the role of Molly.
