The high-end fashion and beauty brand Yves Saint Laurent has filed trademark applications for both its name and its logo with the NFT and the metaverse.
Kondoudis’s tweet says that the French brand intends to launch non-fungible tokens that will verify digital artworks, videos, audio, and text related to beauty and skincare.
Body and hair care products that can be utilised in virtual worlds will also be made by the firm. And furthermore, customers will be able to download computer programs and virtual goods.
What plans does Yves Saint have?
Yves Saint Laurent Parfums also wants to open online stores where people can buy virtual cosmetics, perfumes, goods, and other beauty products. Notably, YSL has not introduced various web3-related efforts in the past. Yves Saint Laurent Beauté issued a set of 10,000 NFTs on the Polygon blockchain in June.
The luxury French company Kering, which also owns Gucci, is in charge of Yves Saint Laurent. In August 2022, for instance, the firm started a Roblox campaign for its signature fragrance, “Flora Gorgeous Jasmine Eau de Parfum.” The promotional event featured an interactive avatar of singer and actress Miley Cyrus, allowing participants to interact with and take photos with the brand’s representative. Gucci accepts crypto as a form of payment in-store and online.
Yves Saint Laurent seems to be trying to reach a younger audience with this move into the web3 space. Or, like many other fashion and beauty brands, the company believes that the metaverse is becoming an important part of a full marketing plan.
