Your Dream Disneyland Adventure on a Budget (Or Not!)

By Twothirstytravellers @2thirstytrav

No tourist destination could call itself the Happiest Place on Earth unless there were a lot of facts to back up the bravado. In the case of Disneyland, 16.2 million tourists can’t be wrong. The Walt Disney Company’s original theme park is one of the premier tourist destinations on the West Coast.

While a trip to Disneyland is never cheap, there are a lot of hotels close to the parks. Many of them provide tremendous bang for the buck. Here are some of the best hotels near Disneyland in terms of overall value for your family.

Enjoy the Hyatt Name Brand for Less at Hyatt Regency Orange County

Just because you’re trying to stay at a cheaper hotel doesn’t mean that you must live in squalor. The Hyatt Regency Orange County offers reasonable rates and close proximity to Disneyland. It is only a mile and a half away from the park, and there is a complimentary shuttle service provided each way.

Trust the Hyatt reputation, as their properties are universally the height of hotel accommodations. The rooms are all at least 325 square feet in size, but parents should take special note of the Kid’s Suites. These rooms provide extra space for families, and the kids get their own room, thereby providing parents with some private time.

Stay a Couple of Miles Away for Less at DoubleTree

Located less than four miles away from the park, the DoubleTree by Hilton Anaheim – Orange County will leave more money in your wallet for Disney toys.

This sprawling 457-room skyscraper still provides wonderful amenities, such as a fitness room stocked with PreCor equipment, a multilingual staff to cater to travelers of many nationalities, and luggage hold for guests who want to head straight to the park after their flights to Anaheim rather than waste time checking in.

The DoubleTree also provides shuttle service to Disneyland’s parks. It is also a bit closer to some of the other popular destinations, such as the American College of Law and UC Irvine Medical Center. Don’t forget that there are ample Southern California beaches in the area if you don’t intend to spend all your time at amusement parks.

Stay Where Uncle Walt Intended

If money is not an issue, introduce your family to a key part of American culture by having them stay at the vaunted Disneyland Hotel. Opened only months after the park itself, this classic hotel represents the finest in Disneyland vacations.

While you should note that the property requires a bit of a hike to get to the park, staying at Disneyland Hotel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most people. Enjoy fine dining at Tangaroa Terrace and then down some grog at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar before heading over to Disneyland. Alternatively, enjoy a walk around Downtown Disney, which resides where part of the hotel itself once resided.

Children remember a trip to Disneyland for the rest of their lives. If you plan to visit, these hotels will offer an unforgettable stay.
