Young Blood by Chandrima Das is a collection of ten terrifying tales. In reality, if your liked genres include horror, then this is a book for you. I am reading this particular genre after a long time. The reason for that is I lost charm in this genre as the last few books I read had no perfection in stories and hence that associated reason of generating interest and curiosity to go on started losing momentum. All these ten stories are born in one of the other colleges in India and are stated to contain a first hand experience. So, be ready to gain some ghostly experience, exclusively created through these stories. I got very much impressed with the writing style and way these stories are curated in a very interesting flow. I feel, this particular genre need some special efforts and effects and is not too easy.

Young Blood by Chandrima Das is intense and crisp. Every page keeps well hooked to the pace of the story and various contours of curiosity. As the author tells,

"These urban legends and first - person accounts form the soul of Young Blood. Like Dr Victor Frankenstein, I have cut out the thematic heart of darkness beating inside teen such college myths/narratives, and showcased then in a new body - in a fresh farm-to-table horror short story."

Well, if you want to relate your college days experiences, especially the horrifying and terrifying ones, you must grab this book because one of the ten stories will closely match to it undoubtedly. You will relive those years brimming with different flavors of new learnings of your life that includes lessons of responsibility, freedom, friendship, independence, love, hate, empathy, etc, through these thrilling tales by Chandrima Das.

I loved the story number 5 of Young Blood by Chandrima Das which very closely relates to my college years spent in the hostel. The story titled as 'The Benefits of Doubt' belongs to IIT Kharagpur. The story also gives some insights of Hijli Jail during the British raj in India during 1950s. Interestingly, the college began its existence as a detention camp that I was completely unaware of. 'Ghost of a Chance' is another classic story. Overall, so the stories are very interesting and engrossing.
