This is a new author for me. It's been on my TBR list for ages because it sounded brilliant and I'm glad I was finally able to read it. I loved it. I plan to read more of the author's work. This is a strange book - I mean that in a good way - a dark and bizarre combination of horror and thriller. Cassandra's story is bizarre, a dark faerie called Pepper-Man who gets her pregnant at a young age, raises her child in the fairy mound who takes on the appearance of her dead lover Tommy and lives as her husband for 12 years before his fake body disintegrates leading to accusations of bizarre murder. Not to mention what her strange fairy daughter does when she learns how Cassandra's family have abused and neglected her. But is she telling the truth or in the grip of a bizarre and disturbing psychosis? The book doesn't tie everything up in a neat bow but that's fine. I loved this book, even the crazy, dark parts.
