I forgot I actually had this book until I started to watch the excellent Netflix show which jogged my memory. This book is written in the second person, a narrative style that's rare in fiction, with Joe seeming to address Beck, the object of his obsession. I was in love with the book from the first sentence. I love second person POV. It can have sinister overtones if done correctly and this definitely added to the sense of menace created in the book. I couldn't stop reading every time I picked up. Joe's thoughts are dark, disturbing and obsessive. His chain of thought changes constantly making this a compelling book. Oh, this gave me the chills in a good way.
