The Boy in the Woods
It isn’t often that I write personal posts on my blog. I pretty much assume that anyone who finds themselves on this website is looking for photographs for their wedding or perhaps some nice portrait photographs of themselves or people they love. The last thing they want to do is listen to me dither on and on about my awesome son.
But you know what?
As a mom sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
I’ll admit that much like the housekeeper who lives in filth or the builder whose house has a “fix-it” list a mile long, I am a photographer who doesn’t photograph as much as she should in her own “real” life. 95% of my photos exist in the icloud of my iphone and are generally shared via the world’s most boring instagram account (seriously it is all food, my kid and cats… I am such a cliche).
But with the recent spate of fog round these parts I was feeling really itchy to get out and take some photographs of my son (AKA “The Boy”). So we took him out to the woods not far from where we live and we tromped him around for some good old-fashioned pushy mom photographic abuse.
Now for the bragging.
[brag/] Not only is my son one hell of a handsome dude but someday he is going to make someone an awesome husband. He is handsome, clever (soooooo clever), funny, well spoken and just generally an all around good dude to spend time with. He is seriously civic minded and is a member of Youth Parliament debating youth issues in the House of Commons. He has won the school governor’s award for Citizen of the Year as well as being recognized by the Selby Council as the Young Person Citizen of the Year. Soon he will be beginning his Duke of Edinburgh and he has high aspirations to go onto a selective university. He plays the ukulele and even tries not to be bad at it. All this and he does the dishes every night and even does his own laundry. [/brag]
So yeah… I made a really cool human and I am now going to pester you with pictures of him.
