A few weeks back we shared the first single off Amerigo Gazaway’s newest project Yasiin Gaye – a super dope meeting of the sounds of Marvin Gaye and Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def). Now we have the release of part 1 of the project in The Departure (Side One) and it is as amazing as that first single promised it would be. However, due to a takedown notice from the Recording Industry Association of America it is not currently available as a free download (yah, AG isn’t even selling this and they are still fucking with him), but you can still stream it in full via Soundcloud below (for now anyway). This is not AG’s first foray into the major label’s outdated and hypocritical legal policies, as they forced him to take down his amazing Bizarre Tribe: A Quest To The Pharcyde project last year (read about that travesty here). So, in the meantime stream the album here, and hopefully everything will get worked out and we will even get the planned second installment Side Two: (The Return). Highly Recommended.
