Well, here’s a killer album (and free download!) to get your weekend started right: Preservation, who has been working with Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) as his tour DJ and in-house producer for nearly ten years, has put together an “audio re-telling” of Mos Def’s 2009 album “The Ecstatic” aptly titled “The REcstatic”. Using new music and the original vocal tracks, Preservation has remixed a much-beloved album into a new vision that any fan of the original will surely dig on. One track of special note is the album’s final one, Black Fantastic, an unreleased alternate take of the original album’s final cut Casa Bey. It is the only track not remixed by Preservation and is an early version of Yasiin Bey’s vocal on a track produced by Minnesota (Money Boss Players).
